March Holidays: Similarity & Congruency Mastery Workshop (Includes a Pre-Review for Download)

  1. Do you have problems writing a pair of similar triangles in the correct order?
  2. Do you have the correct strategies and approach to prove any congruent figures quickly and easily?
  3. Do you have problems understanding this topic on Similarity and Congruency because you think that you can’t rotate the figures mentally while your classmates seem to have that ‘power’?
  4. Do you have challenges in finding ratio of areas or volumes in Vectors, Mensuration?
  5. Is Similarity and Congruency simply just too much for your brain?

If your answer is yes, for any of the questions. I can help!

I have many students just like you! They dislike this topic as it is visually challenging for them, the concepts are being tested again and again in other E-Maths topics, they don’t know how to apply what they have learnt to questions!

All your problems can be solved!

During the March Holidays, I’m conducting the Similarity & Congruency Mastery Workshop and this is what you will learn:

  • the tests for proving similarity or congruency
  • the dummy-proof way to name a pair of similar or congruent figures quickly and easily  (without any mental rotation required)
  • the way to understand ratio of area or volume of similar figures (instead of just rote memorization)
  • putting basic concepts into application (extremely important for students who want to score ‘A’ for Maths)

To find out if you require this workshop, I have prepared a Pre-Review [Download here] for you to work on. It takes 15 minutes and answers are provided for you to check against your solution.

For Secondary 4 students, this workshop will prepare you for your GCE ‘O’ Levels E-Maths exams in 8 months time!

For Secondary 3 (Secondary 1-2 included) students,  you’re most welcome to attend too!

December Holidays (A/E-Maths) Trigonometry Revision Workshops

It doesn’t matter if

  • you need to retake your A-Maths end of the year or early next year
  • you fail both your Maths horribly
  • you didn’t know what you were doing during Maths lessons for 2010
  • you were suggested by your school to drop A-Maths

It matters when you decide to start afresh, work just a little harder than before, this holiday.

I would love to remind you that ‘O’ Level E-Maths could be easy (ask your seniors or wait for ten years series book to be out next year, some questions are easier than PSLE), but you need to have strong basic foundation of your Secondary one to four topics for you to pass ‘O’ Levels and to score ‘A’, you need to know how to apply your knowledge in problem solving.

If you haven’t done well, ask not your teachers, not your parents, not your tutors nor your friends but yourself. You know yourself best!

After you know the reason (s), ask your teachers, parents, tutors or friends for help.

I can help you if you think you can do better, you can improve, you want to start afresh. This December holiday, I’m conducting two revision workshops on:

  1. E-Maths Trigonometry (Read more here)
  2. A-Maths Trigonometry (Read more here)

I welcome all.

All it matters is you decide to start afresh, work just a little harder than before, this holiday.

Have a great holiday!

“It was great! I’ve enjoyed myself in this workshop. Through creative methods, I’ve learnt many new techniques in tackling variations in Trigonometry questions. This workshop has introduced me the types of questions that may come out. Also, has nicely classified them into categories which marks learning easier. I’ve clarified my doubts and through the exercises given, I’ve strengthened my concepts. I will strongly recommend this workshops to my classmates and schoolmates. Thanks you!”

Demoralized After Receiving Mid-year Results

IntensiveRevisionBootCamp

Last week, I received a sms from a student “I felt demoralized even so when I kept doing the test papers my school teacher gave me, yet I didn’t do well.”

Have you felt like this before?

It’s like why is my hard work not showing any improvements?

First of all, we need to understand Mathematics just like languages needs time to be built up, you can’t rush through, not to mention last minute preparation. Consistency is the key to success.

Secondly, doing many papers don’t guarantee good results. Some of you might be shocked. Aren’t we always told that practice makes perfect?  Practicing is the first step, what follow is important too! I’m referring to reviewing your mistakes and recognizing your strength. Many students miss out the second step of reviewing. As a result, their essential concepts aren’t strengthened and remain the same level as before. How would this help to improve?

Thirdly, all doubts must be clarified consistently. You can either arrange a time with your school teacher or tutor to ask all the burning questions you’ve on a topic or maybe the reason why your method can’t get you the correct answer. Don’t waste the opportunity of just bringing your questions with no preparation and expect your teacher to feed you with the solutions. This won’t be useful for you.

I hope you find this post beneficial and if you’re lost and demoralized due to your results, I would like to invite you to our annual June Intensive Revision BootCamp for A-Math & E-Math. Click here to find out more or call me at 9685 7675 to discuss.
