Play The Tower of Hanoi – A Famous Mathematical Game

The Tower of Hanoi or Towers of Hanoi (also known as The Towers of Brahma) is a mathematical game or puzzle. It consists of three rods, and a number of disks of different sizes which can slide onto any rod. The puzzle starts with the disks neatly stacked in order of size on one rod, the smallest at the top, thus making a conical shape.
The objective of the puzzle is to move the entire stack to another rod, obeying the following rules:
- Only one disk may be moved at a time.
- Each move consists of taking the upper disk from one of the rods and sliding it onto another rod, on top of the other disks that may already be present on that rod.
- No disk may be placed on top of a smaller disk.
This might be a simple game but it is a great tool to train your logic thinking.

You can try it with different number of disks. They even added the challenge of completing the game in the minimum moves. Solution is also provided should you face challenges in completing!

I made a trip to Genting Highland last week as a short getaway from the hot weather in Singapore. Here are some of the highlights. Personally I think that the power tower is well taken, don’t you think so?
I guess many of you have also travelled overseas during this holiday to recharge and be ready for year 2009! Another exciting year ahead!

Important Equations Everyone Must Know But Never Taught In School

This equation should be taught in all A-Math and E-math classes! (But never taught in school)
From a strictly mathematical viewpoint it goes like this:
What Makes 100%?
What does it mean to give MORE than 100%?
Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%?
We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%.
How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% ! in life?
Here’s a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:
If:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z is represented as:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.
Then:
H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K
8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98% !
and
K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E
11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%
But,
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that While Hard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there.
