E-Maths: Reading of Cumulative Frequency Curve (+ Pie Chart)

A parent recently sent me some questions and I would like to share with you this one on Cumulative Frequency.

The tricky part of question (c) is reading the scale correctly.

  • Every small square is 2 units on the x-axis
  • Every small square is 4 units on the y-axis

For (ii), total number of students (160) represent the entire pie chart which is 360 degrees.

Therefore, by proportion, we can find out the degrees of the pie chart for students who are awarded C grade.

Ai Ling Ong

Hi, I'm Ai Ling Ong. I enjoy coaching students who have challenges with understanding and scoring in 'O' Level A-Maths and E-Maths. I develop Math strategies, sometimes ridiculous ideas to help students in understanding abstract concepts the fast and memorable way. I write this blog to share with you the stuff I teach in my class, the common mistakes my students made, the 'way' to think, analyze... If you have found this blog post useful, please share it with your friends. I will really appreciate it! :)
