This "C" word, the secret weapon that allows this student to enjoy exams.

It is once again the start of the school term. Perhaps a new environment, new school compound, new faces, new aspirations, new books, new look! haha! At the same time, some whined about the new level of "Desserts" (Spelt it backwards to get the true meaning) from school work, teachers faces (yeah, some faces can really give you a different meaning to life tsktsk).
I guess most students are still adjusting to the sleep late-wake up early lifestyle as compared to the sleep late-wake up late.

I was on msn with one of my students when I was so impressed with her attitude towards school work. She is a totally changed person compared to when she was P6. She used to whine on every single thing. Now just a few days back, though she still commented about how tough A-Maths was , it was in the positive sense as she knew that for her to Conquer this mental block, she has to do something. And do you know what she told me. I was shocked.

"I will ask my teacher what did not go right in my steps tomorrow."

CONSISTENCY

Consistency

She formed this habit ever since Sec 1 which explained how a girl who used to fail Maths scored over 80% for her Sec 1 & 2.
According to her, by clearing any doubts consistently, it saved her the stressful periods before tests and examinations.

Ai Ling Ong

Hi, I'm Ai Ling Ong. I enjoy coaching students who have challenges with understanding and scoring in 'O' Level A-Maths and E-Maths. I develop Math strategies, sometimes ridiculous ideas to help students in understanding abstract concepts the fast and memorable way. I write this blog to share with you the stuff I teach in my class, the common mistakes my students made, the 'way' to think, analyze... If you have found this blog post useful, please share it with your friends. I will really appreciate it! :)

i do agree that consistency is the only thing that can help us to do well in maths. in sec 2 and the start of sec3, i had a hard time dealing with studies ( not only maths but all the subjects generally) and in sec 3, i started having consistency in my studies and of course, i have been doing fantastically well after that. so yeah, consistency is the word.

So true, I am now working on my behavior towards school works and examinations as I'm going to sit for my O level. So, I really need an inspiration and now I'm getting a positive feedback from my A maths teacher unlike before. Yes, A maths is so hard, but yet we have to understand it, learn it, practice it and we'll manage to do them all. I'm hoping that I could learn more on this website (: If only I'm in Singapore, I would go tuition there, but unfortunately I'm in Brunei.
