I was talking to my Secondary 3 students in my O-Level E Maths weekly tuition class on Quadratic when they expressed disgust for the technique of Completing Square.
A similar thing happened when Completing Square was an alternative method offered to Equation of Circle concept. There was a collective yucks from the class.
I hope my video will ease the yuckness many students find with completing square technique and give you some hope to conquer it!

my answer is: (x-3.5)^2 -17.25
=D
x^2 - 7x - 5
= (x-3.5)^2 - 3.5^2 -5
= (x-3.5)^2 + 12.25 - 5
= (x-3.5)^2 + 7.25
Is this the answer?
in front of 12.25 should be a negative sign.
Bingo!
Thank you for participation.
is this secondary 3 mathes?
Usually Sec 3 or even Sec 2 students would have learnt it by first half of the year.
I'm from malaysia and is there a way to get your books?
I would suggest to check if Popular Malaysia can order from Popular Singapore.
Otherwise, come over to Singapore for holidays and buy books too :)
