How to choose an effective tutor or tuition centre for O Level Students

As I was flipping through the papers, there are many advertisements on effective tutors, results,improvements guaranteed, school teachers, scholars etc…

Personally, I think with so many choices available, it is certainly not easy for students and parents to find one which will match their expectations.

I met up with a parent recently whom in fact shared with me on the centre she has enrolled her girl with. I was shocked to find out that the class has a total of 7 students of DIFFERENT levels (eg, there is a mixture of Sec 1 to Sec 4s) all taken part by a tutor. Moreover, the fees charged by this tutor is more than the average price of a group class. Well, this parent mentions that she is testing it out and sees how her girl progresses.

In my personal opinion, the following factors are important for the selection of the right tutor/coach for your learning needs:

Hello Universe,

Here I’m sitting in front of my laptop, typing my entry of the day. There’s always this question that bugs me, who is exactly reading my entries on my site. It seems like readers on my site are the “quiet” kind? Well, make some noise!!! Afterall, Santa is coming to town!

I was surfing google on “How to get more comments on blog?” and I saw something written by the author “Only 1 out of 100 readers leave comments!” It seems to be accurate as I sent out an email recently to hundreds of my subscribers for their thoughts and comments after they have received the “Be a Squaring Expert within 30 seconds” strategy. Yes, it’s the truth!

You can’t memorize Maths! Rote learning has been deemed as “study dead books” in chinese : du si shu. Yes you can have really good memory but knowledge learnt by pure memorization doesn’t get retain long enough and most importantly, it is simply a waste of time and resources since you can’t really apply what you have memorized to questions unless you have completely understand the fundamentals and the linkage.

The reason for me posting this up is that I was shocked to find one math tutor with this approach
